Train detection system to avoid accidents at level crossings.

To implement the train detection system will avoid a large number of accidents at level crossings. The system must ensure early information about the approaching train as well as inform the driver about possibility of safe passage of the train (people are informed of approaching train).

Level Crossing with operator Booth

Train detection system will be based on RLSrw detectors which evaluates the radio signals from FLA-08rw tags that detects passing train on the track. They will be installed about 6 km before and after level crossing in the two track passage. The signals from RLSrw detectors will be transmitted by the wireless telemetry system to Operator Booth (at level crossing) where it will be used to inform people of approaching train. This functionality will be implemented using acoustic and optical signaling devices. System will send simultaneously the information to the train driver by the signal lantern installed about 2 km far from the level crossing. Everything will be powered by the professional all-year solar power system.

Un-manned Level Crossing with information to the train driver

This functionality will be implemented using acoustic and optical signaling devices. Everything will be powered by the professional all-year solar power system. In this version the detection and the wireless telemetry system on the 3km will be redundant by using duplicate equipment.

Device specification

RLS-07rw
RLS detector evaluates radio signals from FLA-08rw tags that detect passing trains on the track. RLS detector has an optical tamper, module tilt detection, module shake detection, 2 logic outputs and 4 logic inputs. RLS detector evaluate all signals from FLA in parallel and for its activation must be met 2/2 or 3/3 (signals confirmed identically on all tags in the detection zone). Each RLS detector has its unique ID number from the factory. All parameters of detector are configured using FLR USB receiver.

FLA-08rw tag
Acceleration RFID tag FLA-08rw, along with RLS-07rw detector, is used for a detection of passing trains on the track. For a detection, the tag uses an integrated 3-axis acceleration sensor. FLA-08rw tag regularly transmits radio
messages, which are received by RLS-07rw detector, installed in the radio range. Tag’s sensors measure vibrations in all axis 25 times, during the 5 second period. These results are averaged by using a floating algorithm, to ensure the internal security of SIL 3 (Safety Integrity Level), so that a randomly measured sporadic vibrations wouldn’t cause an unwanted activation of the tag’s output function. Each FLA tag has its unique ID number from the factory.

FLU-05
FLU is a central unit that monitors the status of FLG detectors. The module has an optical tamper, tilt and shake detection, logic inputs and outputs, and 2 relays that can be user- configured.

FLG-06 tag
The FLG-06 detector is designed for protection of gates (doors). The detector consists of a pair of FLG-06 modules in combination with MAG-M1, M2 or M3 magnet. The detector’s acceleration sensor detects dynamic changes in position of gates. It has an integrated sensor that measures the magnetic intensity of the magnet pair. FLG-06 detector enables detection of opening the gate even in case the intruder opens the gate very carefully, without concussions. This detector can also be used for securing objects in „object protection” mode.

iCAM-Solar365 P30W
The highly efficient iCAM-Solar365 system provides energy even in a difficult winter period, providing two-day autonomy of the system. iCAM-Solar365 P30W provides a year-round power supply for necessary devices with a continuous power consumption of 30W. In the summer of March-September, the system performance is much higher, providing 24-hour power supply for 75W. The battery pack is designed to be buried in the ground which will ensure greater safety.

CD06 + CD04
Professional telemetry module CD-04 with 500 mW power, working in the slow ISM 869MHz band, enables wireless operation at a distance of up to 6 km. It implements two-way telemetry transmission (half- duplex). CD06 is an I/O module to control executive devices.

WCT-02h
WCT-02 is a two-way transceiver operating in the 868-869 MHz band, enabling remote radio control of many different devices using the RS485 protocol, operating in installation within a 3km radius.
